From there runners will be directed through Liverpool city centre, passing many of the city’s iconic sites such as The Cavern Club, where the Beatles once played, and Goodison Park. 9 June Marsden 10 Mile A circular route taking in fantastic scenery as it climbs up to Wessenden and back into Marsden with a quick finish.” The route is a mix of trail (8M) and road (2M). These are quiet roads. Details
15 June lakeland 5 Passes Ultra 33 mile ultra with 10,000 feet climb the cut off time is 14 hours so you require an average of just 2.5mph but still not an easy task Details/Entry

16 June Durham Coast 1/2 Marathon A mixed terrain marathon and half marathon in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside? The race will start in Keighley and head over Ilkley moor and back. Details
22 June Gibside Marathon This is an evening event it’s a multi lap race around the undulating grounds of Gibside, starting at 5pm. You must have a head torch if you plan to be out after 10pm. The route is tarmac, hardcore and trail. There is also a 12hr and 24hr events on the same time and date  See route map. Details
22/23 June Gibside 12 and 24 hr run Complete as many laps/miles as you can in 24 hours! Water, juice, salty snacks and sweets will be provided each lap. You must provide your own meals. Tents will be pitched for sleeping. All camping equipment will be provided NEMC. You cannot bring your own. Head torches are compulsory. The course will only be marshaled until dusk and will be lit by glow sticks during the dark. Details

8 July Scafell Pike Trail Marathon 

A trail marathon which includes England’s highest peak. Starting at Keswick the route follows lakeshore trails, wooded valleys and up high mountain trails. This sounds like one for the hardier runner although the organisers say its suitable for all abilities.

31 Aug Skipton                      1/2 Marathon Trail The race starts with a climb over Sharphaw before dropping down to the picturesque village of Hetton.  On the return it climbs Sharphaw again then a 1 mile down hill run to the finish line. Entry
1 Sept.  Hornsea Running Festival Marathon, 1/2 marathon, 10 miles & 20 miles These races fill up quickly so if you fancy one of these you better enter now. Its a lovely scenic, traffic free out and back route, from Hornsea, through to Hull and back along the Transpennine Trail Entry Page
7 Sept.  Yorkshireman off-road marathon

The race starts on Main Street. There are four miles is on tarmac, then over a stream and across an open moor . The route continues across countryside, passing near Gatehouse and via Houghgate and Brookhouse reaching the halfway mark at the junction with the A629. The inward half starts along a footpath to Denholme Beck. Under a railway bridge to a reservoir, it then carries on through forest and across moorland to Hainworth Village and onto the last 1.2 miles onto the finish line.

22 Sept RAFBF Spadeadam 1/2 Marathon The Half Marathon course winds its way around and through Spadeadam Forest with views over to the Lake District and Sycamore Gap on Hadrians Wall. 28 Sept. Lakeland Four Passes The Lakeland Four Passes is a 19 mile circular route with over 5300ft of ascent which starts and finishes at Rosthwaite Village Hall in Borrowdale, at the southern end of Derwent Water. Details

29 Sept. Great Scottish Run The course starts in George Square in the city centre, before taking runners past some of Glasgow’s finest venues and buildings. Runner cross over the River Clyde, as well as a taking a trip through Pollok Park and Bellahouston Park, before heading back for the grandstand finish on Glasgow Green Details
29 Sept Hart Village Half marathon The route starts and finishes in Hart Village taking in Castle Eden Dene, Durham Coast, Crimdon Dene and the Hart to Haswell Walkway.

29 Sept. Pontefract half Marathon The start is at the Cornmarket, Pontefract Town Centre.  The course takes you out of Pontefract and into countryside through Ackworth, Wentbridge and Carlton before heading back towards the town, there’s a final lap of the centre before you finish Details
29 Sept. Redcar 1/2 marathon The race follows a  coastal route along the Yorkshire sea front. The course starts and finishes on Majuba Road. along two out and back stretches, turning at 3.5 and 10 miles. Details
6 Oct. Chester Marathon voted at the 2018 Running Awards.  With a spectacular start and finish at Chester Racecourse, the route passes all Chester’s iconic landmarks, then heads out into the Cheshire & North Wales countryside, before returning along the banks of the River Dee Details
6 Oct. Great Cumbria run Starting at The Sheepmount Athletics Stadium in Carlisle the race will again take competitors out through the city centre towards Wetherall before turning back and returning through Scotby Village, Rickerby Park before a grandstand finish back at the Sheepmount Details
13 Oct Keilder Marathon & 1/2 Marathon  Kielder Marathon route follows an almost entirely off-road course around northern Europe’s largest man-made lake, Kielder Water, in Northumberland. Details
19 Oct Pen Y Gent Ultra (Hawes)  50K Start and finish is at the Hawes Market House and follows in the footsteps of Roman Legions over the Cam Road to Horton-In-Ribblesdale, then summiting Pen-y-Ghent, before returning along the Cam Road. Total distance 50 Km. Details
19 Oct. Langdale Marathon and half Marathon Claimed to be the toughest road marathon in the UK.  The Marathon is 2 laps of the 1/2 Marathon and has a total ascent of 3,400ft. Details
20 Oct. Yorkshire Marathon A popular and picturesque run with fantastic PB potential, The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon takes over 7,000 runners past some of York’s most historic sites and along scenic traffic-free country lanes, making it an excellent race for runners of all abilities Details
2 Nov White Rose Ultra Huddersfield There are four options 30 miles, 60 miles 100 miles and for the insane runners there’s the 150 mile. The route takes in sections of the Kirklees Way (Ultra Kirklees Way, Pennine Way and many other local tracks and trails.  Entry open now Details and Entry options
16 Nov. Brecon Marathon and Ultra Starting and ending at Talybont on Usk this is and excellently organised and marked route.  The Ultra consists of 2 laps whereas the Marathon is 1 ultra loop but deviate to take in the two highest mountains in S. Wales before rejoining the Ultra route. Make no mistake the Marathon is tough in 2018 around half the entries to the marathon failed to complete hence the 9 hr cut off Details

9 Feb 2020 Brecon to Cardiff 44 Miles of lovely Welsh mountains and valleys to run through.  Claimed to be one of the easier Ultra’s though is there any ultra that’s easy in Brecon in February.  This is a one way run from Brecon down to Cardiff ( all down hill 🙂 lol Details
