24 Nov Ravenstonedale 10K A 10k road race from Ravenstonedale Primary School. The route takes in three different loops around the picturesque village of Ravenstonedale, making this an interesting course for runners and also for spectators, who got to see them pass by several times! 25 Nov Gavin Duffy’s Memorial 5K Cowpen Bewley (Billingham) “One of the Tees Trail Winter 5K Races on Oct 21st, Nov 25th, Dec 16th, Jan 13th, Feb 24th, and Mar 24th.” “Pre-registration for the races is at trailraces.co.uk/register.php – you only have to pre-register once for the races even if you cannot make all them – for the races that you attend, you will pay your entry fee on the day.”  


25 Nov Barnsley 10K Not much info on this one, it’s organised by Barnsley Ac The start is at Royston Park and it finishes at Royston Leisure Centre Details
1 December Petal Night runner Grizdale 10K The first half is climbing, the second half is rewarding descents. The course follows well marshalled trails within the Forest and is pitch black, so head torches are compulsory Details
2 December Run Durham Dalton Park 10K new Winter 10k on a flat and fast course starting in the Dalton Park Shopping Outlet. Chip timing will be used on this accurately measured route where all finishers receive a medal. Details
December Ulverston Xmas Pudding 10K Organised by Had Hill Harriers, Parking on site, changing, toilet facilities and refreshments.  Entry is available on-line and on the day.  Race starts at 11.30am Details/Entry
8 Dec Langdale Pudding race The road race follows an undulating route, out and back along the stunning Great Langdale valley, but its no easy course the organisers idea of undulating caught me out last year this is a tough course, but you do get a family size Christmas pudding ! Entry

16 December Preston Park 5K Part of the Stockton winter Trail series this although you may consider it too short it is a really good one well worth doing. Especially since entry is only £5 and all finishers get a selection box Details
22 Dec Saltwell10K (Gateshead) Route is traffic Free and undulating.  This race attracts Elite runners to absolute beginners so truly is suitable for all levels, the last couple of years the memento has been a miniature bottle of Whisky and an embossed Whisky glass. Can highly recommend this one Details
5 Jan 2019 Sir Titus Trot 5K & 10K The route is out and back race along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, with a focus on the stretch of canal around the Victorian mill town of Saltaire  Further Details
6 January 5.5Miles Race A 5.5 mile multi-terrain race from Hart Village through the dene. Begins on trail and goes into dene, with challenging climbs. Flat tarmac back to the finish Details
12 January Dalston 10K & 5K winter Trail Cumbria 10k -Starting and finishing in Dalston village the trail takes you towards Raughton Head, Rose Castle and a dash along the banks of the River Caldew.  This is a well marshalled route with a drink station at the mid-way point. The 5K route starts and finishes in Dalston with a mix of trail and road – exact route to be confirmed Details

17 Feb.  Harewood House 10K This extremely hilly route offers a challenging trail run with miles of muddy tracks, steep forest inclines and tree-lined fields, all set within the stunning grounds of Harewood House. Details
23 Feb. Glentress 10k Situated between the small Borders towns of Peebles and Innerleithen & just one hour away from Edinburgh, the location is second to none.  This one is a great Trail run More Information and entry
24 Feb.  Montane Trail 10 Daleman The Trail 10 Dalemain is a 10k trail running takes place in the grounds of the Dalemain Estate near Ullswater in the Lake District. It starts and finishes in the court yard of Dalemain House and can best be described as an undulating cross country run in sometimes muddy conditions! There’s also have a free Trail Kidz 1k event on the day, with medals for all runners Details
24 Feb.  Huddersfield 10K At £12 entry including t-shirt this is definitely not overpriced.  There are prizes for the first five males, first five females, first in each vet. category and first three male and female teams. Information from Race Director

10 March Watchtrail 1K and 5K unusually a free trail run!

The 5k route is one lap of the course, 10k is two laps. The course takes in Wetlands, Woodlands, Scrubs and Grassland. The terrain is made up of concrete, tarmac, gravel and some grassy paths. There will be some standing water after rainfall and the course could be muddy in parts – but thats all part of the fun!

16 March Cartmel 5K and 10K Trail Starting and finishing at Cartmel Racecourse (LA11 6QF), the 5km Cartmel Sport Trail, 10km Cartmel Trail Run, take you on off-road  through varied countryside in the Lake District.The trails are mainly along waymarked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways. Underfoot conditions are variable with a bit of everything. Good fast sections, but it can be very sticky in places, especially if wet! Details
7 April Lincoln 10K The route is flat and fast, so perfect of a PB, Starting at Yarborough Leisure Centre, the course goes some of the city’s historic landmarks, including the Lincoln Cathedral, University Campus and Roman Walls. Eventually finishing at the towering Cathedral. Details
13 April Cragside 10K Run Northumberlands most popular 10k race takes place once again at the National Trust venue. The course includes a 4km climb from 3.7km to 7.7km (climbing almost 100m) then coming back down to the finish outside the visitor centre Details
13 April Hawkshead 10K Trail The routes take in the infamous, mile long, near vertical, killer climb of the “Coffin Trail”! Underfoot conditions are generally good, particularly for those used to off-road running. Details
21 April Helmsley 10K Multi Terrain The Helmsley 10k is a multi-terrain race partly on road, and partly on forestry track and footpaths and fields. Starts at the Sports and Community Centre, Baxton Lane, Helmsley Details

28April Washington Trail 10K Washington Trail 10k winds its way around the James Steel Park and follows woodland trails along the banks of the River Wear Details and Entry
4 May Staveley5K and 10K Trail The trail climbs out from Staveley above the Kentmere valley, before returning along the valley and through ancient woodland, then  climbing Reston Scar before the descent back into Staveley village. Details
5 May Gear 10K (Kings Lynn) The Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) 10K, always attracts a capacity entry.  It follows a scenic route that features the town centre, River Ouse pathway and many Walks and impressive landmarks including the Custom House, Red Mount and Greyfriars Tower. Details
11 May Brecon Beacon 10K Challenge At £30 entry not one of the cheapest Trail 10Ks but it does have a good reputation Details

19 May Fountains 10K The Fountains 10K is a great event for runners of all abilities starting from the village of Grantley, near Ripon. It’s an undulating route that takes in quiet country roads, off-road trails and scenic moorland within Nidderdale. This race is also excellent value check it out Details

2 June 10K mini Marathon
Starting and finishing at Coniston Hall Landing Point, on the shores of Coniston Water the phrase Mini marathon seems like marketing spin by Lakeland Trails for this one.  It takes place at the time and place of their Marathon and 1/2 Marathon hence the term mini Marathon nevertheless the10K is a good route even if the term Marathon linked to it is dubious
30 June Lindley 10K
The route rises from 218 mtrs at start to 286 mtrs at 3k,then 142 mtrs at 8k then back to 218 mtrs at the finish.
Lidget Street is closed to traffic for start and finish.

4 August Ray Harrison Memorial 10K Road Race Final race of the Billingham Marsh House Harriers Series.  It’s local, well organised and enjoyable. Details
18 August Branches and Bay 10K The route takes you through the Durham Wildlife Trust and National Trust managed woodland of Hawthorn Dene. Then the running of the Bays of Hawthorn Hive and The Blast Beach. Finishers get a medal and choice of Buff or Mug Details
Sept Simple Health Great Tees 10K 10K loop along the River Tees.  Entries not yet open but you can register an interest now. Pre Entry Register
22 Sept. Sheffield 10K

Runners will take a city centre route, starting in Arundel Gate, and  on along Charter Row then along Ecclesall Road, before skirting the edges of Endcliffe Park.it then continues along Riverdale Road, along Endcliffe Vale Road, close to the Botanical Gardens, then travels down Brocco Bank and back to the city centre finish.

29 Sept Zetland 10K This is a provisional date and the race is part of the Redcar running festival.  The route is part of the 1/2 Marathon course along the sea front Run Britain Entry Page
