17 Feb.  Harewood House 10K This extremely hilly route offers a challenging trail run with miles of muddy tracks, steep forest inclines and tree-lined fields, all set within the stunning grounds of Harewood House. Details
23 Feb. Glentress 10k Situated between the small Borders towns of Peebles and Innerleithen & just one hour away from Edinburgh, the location is second to none.  This one is a great Trail run More Information and entry
24 Feb.  Montane Trail 10 Daleman The Trail 10 Dalemain is a 10k trail running takes place in the grounds of the Dalemain Estate near Ullswater in the Lake District. It starts and finishes in the court yard of Dalemain House and can best be described as an undulating cross country run in sometimes muddy conditions! There’s also have a free Trail Kidz 1k event on the day, with medals for all runners Details
24 Feb.  Huddersfield 10K At £12 entry including t-shirt this is definitely not overpriced.  There are prizes for the first five males, first five females, first in each vet. category and first three male and female teams. Information from Race Director

2 March Dalby Dark Run (5K night run) The course is run on a mixture of forest roads, gravel paths, footpaths and wooden bridges. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Details

16 March Cartmel 5K and 10K Trail Starting and finishing at Cartmel Racecourse (LA11 6QF), the 5km Cartmel Sport Trail, 10km Cartmel Trail Run, take you on off-road  through varied countryside in the Lake District.The trails are mainly along waymarked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways. Underfoot conditions are variable with a bit of everything. Good fast sections, but it can be very sticky in places, especially if wet! Details

31 March ELvington 5 Mile Flier (York) The sell out Elvington Flyer is returning for a second year.  The event takes place at Elvington Airfield actually on the runway itself. Details
7 April Overgate Hospice 10K &5K (Halifax) 5k and 10k challenges taking in some of the best views that Calderdale has to offer, and some of the best hills too! Details
7 April Lincoln 10K The route is flat and fast, so perfect of a PB, Starting at Yarborough Leisure Centre, the course goes some of the city’s historic landmarks, including the Lincoln Cathedral, University Campus and Roman Walls. Eventually finishing at the towering Cathedral. Details
13 April Cragside 10K Run Northumberlands most popular 10k race takes place once again at the National Trust venue. The course includes a 4km climb from 3.7km to 7.7km (climbing almost 100m) then coming back down to the finish outside the visitor centre Details
13 April Hawkshead 10K Trail The routes take in the infamous, mile long, near vertical, killer climb of the “Coffin Trail”! Underfoot conditions are generally good, particularly for those used to off-road running. Details
20 April Run Durham Hamsterley 10K The Hamsterley 10k takes place in the Forest Drive which is largely flat, the race turns and comes back to the start/finish area at the Nest Car park near the middle of the Hamsterley Forest drive Details
21 April Helmsley 10K Multi Terrain The Helmsley 10k is a multi-terrain race partly on road, and partly on forestry track and footpaths and fields. Starts at the Sports and Community Centre, Baxton Lane, Helmsley Details

28April Washington Trail 10K Washington Trail 10k winds its way around the James Steel Park and follows woodland trails along the banks of the River Wear Details and Entry
4 May Staveley5K and 10K Trail The trail climbs out from Staveley above the Kentmere valley, before returning along the valley and through ancient woodland, then  climbing Reston Scar before the descent back into Staveley village. Details
5 May Gear 10K (Kings Lynn) The Grand East Anglia Run (GEAR) 10K, always attracts a capacity entry.  It follows a scenic route that features the town centre, River Ouse pathway and many Walks and impressive landmarks including the Custom House, Red Mount and Greyfriars Tower. Details
11 May Brecon Beacon 10K Challenge At £30 entry not one of the cheapest Trail 10Ks but it does have a good reputation Details
11 May Kirklees 10K (huddersfield) Circular course starting and finishing at Cathedral House, following the canal towpath from the end of St. Thomas Road to Linthwaite and back. Details
12 May Raby Castle 10K Hosted by Teesdale Athletic Club takes place in the Grounds of Raby Castle.  Not much information on this one Details

19 May Great Manchester 10K With an entry fee of £38 it’s a bit too rich for many, on the plus side the race is along closed roads and does have a great atmosphere. Details
19 May Fountains 10K The Fountains 10K is a great event for runners of all abilities starting from the village of Grantley, near Ripon. It’s an undulating route that takes in quiet country roads, off-road trails and scenic moorland within Nidderdale. This race is also excellent value check it out Details

This is an evening race (7:30pm) it’s a challenging course on hilly roads, starting and finishing at the Roman Fort of Vindolanda, near Bardon Mill.  All finishers will receive a medal.

2 June 10K mini Marathon
Starting and finishing at Coniston Hall Landing Point, on the shores of Coniston Water the phrase Mini marathon seems like marketing spin by Lakeland Trails for this one.  It takes place at the time and place of their Marathon and 1/2 Marathon hence the term mini Marathon nevertheless the10K is a good route even if the term Marathon linked to it is dubious

26 June Run Northumbria Kirkley 10k
This is an undulating course on local roads looping through Kirkley and Ogle, finishing on the Equestrian Drive at Kirkley Hall.

30 June Run Northumbria Coquet 10K
Taking place on the same day as the Coquet half marathon and will finish at the Riverside Park with the half marathon finishers. The route is an out and back flat and fast course – jusing the last 5km of the half marathon route. The finish is the same as the half marathon

The route rises from 218 mtrs at start to 286 mtrs at 3k,then 142 mtrs at 8k then back to 218 mtrs at the finish.
Lidget Street is closed to traffic for start and finish.

6 July InterStellar 10K Run (York) The event starts and finishes at the Askham Bar Park and Ride in York, where there is free parking and toilet facilities. Entry open now Details

21 July Burnley 10K Starting and finishing at Towneley Park the race is on mixed terrain  mainly on Closed  roads but  with some grass and hard paths Details
28 July Run Yorkshire Ryedale 10K This race starts and finishes at Ampleforth College and uses roads and tracks within the estate, lending itself to a great traffic free route for runners. The 10k is 1 lap of the estate Details

4 August Ray Harrison Memorial 10K Road Race Final race of the Billingham Marsh House Harriers Series.  It’s local, well organised and enjoyable. Details
18 August Branches and Bay 10K The route takes you through the Durham Wildlife Trust and National Trust managed woodland of Hawthorn Dene. Then the running of the Bays of Hawthorn Hive and The Blast Beach. Finishers get a medal and choice of Buff or Mug Details
1 Sept. Wetherby 10K A fast, flat scenic route with 1,000 runners. The race is Gold-Graded by the British Association of Road Race and was the BARR National WInner of the Bill Reynolds Memorial Trophy 2014. The Wetherby Mini-Marathon (entry on the day only) is held alongside the 10K. Celebrate ‘A Cracking little Yorkshire run’ with the commemorative mug for all finishers. Details

22 Sept. Sheffield 10K

Runners will take a city centre route, starting in Arundel Gate, and  on along Charter Row then along Ecclesall Road, before skirting the edges of Endcliffe Park.it then continues along Riverdale Road, along Endcliffe Vale Road, close to the Botanical Gardens, then travels down Brocco Bank and back to the city centre finish.

6 October Penshaw 10K The race claims to have everything you would want in a Trail Race. Great views set on lovely trails. The route as undulating, and is brutal for a 10k.  Finisher get Medal and choice of buff or mug  Details
