new! CLUB ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP 2008-2009

EVENTS
Events are chosen to cover various distances, these events do not differ from any other events that you do- so just enter them as normal. The prospect of entering these events might ensure more club participation, raising the profile of the club and also provide more social enjoyment and the sense of belonging to a team.

ADJUSTMENT FACTORS
The Individual scoring is based on the ( WAVA ) Age graded scoring system which allows an equal comparison to be made between the sexes and different ages.

SCORING
The Scoring will be based on the age graded system with the percentage achieved being turned into points for that given race with one point awarded for each 0.5 % ,So an athlete who achieved 77.6 % in a particular race would score 155 points.
The best scores achieved by each athlete will be used in the championship with a total of nine races counting towards their final total which are divided into three groups.

RACE GROUPS

For the 2008/2009 Championships which run from April to March the races are organised into groups of various distances to encourage runners to experiment over different distances .

Group 1 - Up to 5 miles- with the athletes Best two or three to count.
Group 2 - Over 5 miles and Under 10 miles- most popular group so best four races to count.
Group 3 - 10 miles and over - Best 2 or 3 to count.

For the first year awards will be given to the First three in the championship and also Male/Female award for the best scoring individual race.
