Welcome to the Loftus & Whitby AC Poultry Run 2025.
On Sunday 21st December you and close to 400 other runners will run our multi-terrain festive race with excellent poultry and spot prizes.
Registration opens at 9.30am at Loftus Leisure Centre, TS13 4RS and the race starts at 11am.
Please Note : Please be aware there are short stretches of this race ran on pavements on live roads, please be aware of the Highway Code and keep to the pavements.
This years course is ran mainly on road with approximately 1km section of the Cleveland Way footpath, therefore we recommend road shoes but ultimately this is personal preference. We just ask that you take extra care if the course is muddy on the off road section.
Please be aware there are no showers available at this race, and this year we have portaloo’s situated in the bottom car park of the Leisure Centre, please use these rather than the Leisure Centre’s facilities.
The Leisure Centre is kindly allowing runners to leave personal belongings in the centre, but this is left at your own risk, and also please note the centre will be closing at 1.30pm, any belongings still in the centre after this time will be available to collect the following day.
There is a coffee van available for you to purchase a hot drink / snack before, during or after the race for both runners and spectators.
Parking is limited at the Leisure Centre (TS13 4RS), in the top car park only, there will be Marshal’s to direct you. Please car share if possible. Parking is also available at the nearby Hummersea Primary School road (not inside the school carpark), postcode TS13 4XD and from here a Marshal will direct you to a shortcut to walk back to registration. If you are parking on the nearby housing estates please be courteous and considerate to our neighbours and residents, and please note parking on Coronation Road is strictly forbidden.
If you are bringing any family or friends along for support we can advise an ideal spectators spot, where we have mentioned parking at Hummersea Primary School, this is also prime viewing location as you will see the runners heading out into the race uphill and also coming back into the final ¾ of a mile. If you’re quick you can then head through the shortcut to meet them at the finish. Please advise them to always be aware of the Highway Code and other athletes & spectators on the course. There will be a Marshal available to direct spectators to this area.
Please also note only bone conduction earphones are allowed during the race.
