ANNUAL SUBS
England Athletics have once again increased athlete affiliation fees so this has gave us no choice but to raise our annual subscription fees to £30 for adults, £17 for competing juniors and students, £10 for non competing juniors, second count and social members.
This can be paid by cash, cheque, paypal or bank transfer as detailed below;
If paying by cash, please put money in an envelope with your name on the front.
If paying by cheque, please make payable to Loftus & Whitby AC, again in an envelope with your name on the front.
If paying by paypal please select to pay ‘family or friends’ or pay £31 to cover the fees. Our club paypal email is [email protected]
If paying by bank transfer, account number – 20628638, sort code 20-56-78, account name Loftus & Whitby AC. If using this method please include your name on the transfer description and if possible send me a screenshot to advise that you have paid, just so I don’t miss you off the EA payment list.
Please can we request payments are received by 31st May 2023. If paying by cash or cheque, please hand or post to myself or a member of the coaching team.
PRESENTATION NIGHT
Our long overdue Presentation Night will be on Friday 19th May at Hinderwell Village Hall which will include a fun quiz, game of bingo and pie & peas, its always a fun night and great to get together outside of running events. More information to follow.
MULGRAVE RUN
This years race is proposed to go ahead on Sunday 4th June at 11am, this year it will be advertised as approximately 10k as we will be starting and finishing at the Castle. If any of you are available to marshall or help in any way please get in touch.
CLEVELAND WAY RELAYS
Watch out for Mally & Trev organising teams, if they haven’t already caught you and you’d like to run please contact them or give me a shout and I’ll pass it on to them. This years race is on Sunday 18th June, with one slight change, there will be an extra mass start at Whitby, at 9am, this is to try to get teams finishing at Clay Bank a little earlier.
SPECIAL BIRTHDAY
We have a very important birthday coming up in July this year, our lovely Norman Chester will be 80 years young! What an inspiration this gorgeous guy is to us all! If you would like to make a contribution to his collection please either pay by the same methods as your subs but please include a note that it is for Norman. We will likely have a little get together following the run session on the closest Tuesday to his big day, again, more details to follow closer to the time. If any of you have any old / new photos of Norman these would be great to be displayed on the night, if you have them digitally I can get them printed.
TRAINING TOPS
Following the feedback from the training top designs there was an overall favourite and it was suggested to also have our club logo on the back, I have attached this final design and also the sizing guide. Due to the high quality of the t-shirts (as we will be using the same supplier as the Thunder Run 2022 tops), the grant doesn’t cover the total cost and we will therefore be charging £10 per adult top and £5 per junior top. If you would like a top please can you send me your size so I can place the order as soon as possible. You can either pay with your subs (if so please add this note to your payment preference), or you can pay once the tops arrive. The sooner I have everyone’s size, the sooner I can place the order.
ENDURE 24 EVENT, LEEDS
Due to having so much fun and success at last year’s and previous year’s Thunder Run 24 hour relay events we entered a few teams this year but then it was unfortunately cancelled. We soon found an alternative race taking part at Bramham Park, Leeds during the weekend of 24th – 25th June. We currently have enough runners to enter 2 medium size teams at a cost of £71.50 per person, this includes festival entry, car parking, camping spot and a t-shirt. If you like the sound of this and fancy taking part please contact myself for further information, the more the merrier!
TREASURER VACANCY
Our hard-working, very much appreciated Treasurer (Andrew Bostock) is standing down after this year so this vacancy requires filling, if you or a family member would like to be considered or are just interested at this point please can you contact myself or Andy for more details.
